community credentials now void
65,000 people got fucked today—myself included—when the DNCC changed the venue for President Obama’s acceptance speech from Bank of America Stadium (capacity 70,000) to the smaller Time Warner Cable Arena (capacity 20,000).
The move with will significantly reduce the number of people Obama will speak to in person.
Ugh. I volunteered 4 hours and stood in line all afternoon to get tickets for myself and my family. Plenty of other North Carolinians volunteered 9+ hours for just one credential through the 9-3-1 program.
Obviously it’s been exciting to have all this exciting DNC shit going on uptown, but this setback soured the convention for me a little.
DNC CEO Steve Kerrigan said, “We will work with the campaign to ensure that those unable to attend tomorrow’s event will be invited to see the president between now and Election Day.” You’d better, dogg >:(
