ok so like, fiona apple was great and fucking captivating and phenomenal last night but seriously i couldn’t help but stare at her drummer, amy wood, almost the entire time.

Speaking of my parents, I offhandedly told my mom that I might go see Fiona Apple on tour this summer and she was like, “Oh, your father loves her!”
Really? My guinea father is a Fiona Apple fan? And there’s no way this is a recent development because The Idler Wheel… literally just came out. He and Fiona must go all the way back to 1997.

It’s been a long time since we’ve heard new music from Fiona Apple. Luckily, the wait is almost over. In a recent tweet, Epic Records chairman and CEO L.A. Reid announced that the followup to her 2005 album Extraordinary Machine will be released sometime in early 2012.
It seems that Epic is at least partly responsible for the large hiatus. At a concert in Los Angeles in November, Apple admitted to her fans that she couldn’t remember how to play her new songs because they had been done for a year.
